Kim Pan-ki is a ceramic artist who has operated his pottery workshop in Icheon for over 40 years, creating refined celadon and white porcelain that highlight the natural beauty of clay and glaze. His passion for ceramics began at the age of 25 after encountering celadon at the National Museum of Korea, an experience that inspired him to devote his life to the craft. His work has been exhibited internationally, including “Stories of Serenity” at Han Collection in London (2022), the World Cultural Heritage Fair at the Louvre Museum in Paris (2019), “Constancy and Change in Korean Traditional Craft” at La Triennale di Milano (2017), and “Porcelain Reloaded” at the Ceramic Museum in Ludwigsburg (2014). Kim has received numerous honours, such as being named “Notable Craftwork of the Year” by the Louvre Museum (2019), the Grand Prize at the Gwangju White Porcelain Competition (2012), and the UNESCO Excellent Handicraft Award (2008).
