Mug with Leaf Design
Na Yong-hwan has dedicated over 30 years to buncheong ceramics, specialising in traditional inlaid and stamped techniques. Rooted in Korean sentiment and aesthetics, his work embodies a philosophy of “restoring the old and creating the new,” blending heritage with contemporary expression. His craftsmanship has been showcased in notable exhibitions, including a 2019 solo show at Gallery Downjae in Ulsan, and the 2017 Korea–Vietnam 25th Anniversary Korean Ceramics Special Exhibition in Hanoi. His achievements have been recognised with multiple awards, such as the Special Prize at both the 2020 Korea Buncheong Competition and the 50th Gyeonggi-do Crafts Competition, as well as earlier honours including the 2017 Gimhae National Tea Bowl Competition Special Prize and the Grand Prize at the 2006 Gyeonggi-do Crafts Competition.
