Cho views this technique as a bridge between traditional craft, which emphasises functionality, and modern ceramics, which leans toward conceptual art. The process involves building up clay, layering colours, and carving, all while interacting with natural materials and letting time influence the work. This layering reveals lines and forms depending on the depth of the carving, creating essential sculptural qualities rather than mere decorative patterns.
